Jake Whiskin Shares New Single ‘Absence’

British indie singer and songwriter Jake Whiskin has just shared his brand new single Absence, a warm and introspective piece of indie-pop/acoustic music cut out now via Dance To The Radio.

I am a fan of Jake Whiskin's gorgeous, wistful vocals which are packed with so much raw, honest emotion that instantly connects us to his lovely storytelling. The third single to be taken from his forthcoming debut album, Absence is a vulnerable, yet empowering song about looking inward and trying to find purpose in what life presents us with. This relatable and introspective piece of music is nicely conveyed through Jake's gorgeous vocals which glide beautifully over intricate acoustic guitar riffs that are subtly joined by delicate piano keys that enhance the song's warm and intimate atmosphere. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Jake Whiskin said,
The song's about looking inward and trying to find purpose or meaning in what life presents us with. We recorded it to tape on my battered childhood guitar, hence the creaks and squeaks from the strings. It's very bare, vulnerable and the words take centre stage - which is scary, but pretty empowering too.
