néomí Shares Debut Single ‘if i wasn’t made for love’

néomí, the moniker for Surinamese/Dutch folk-pop singer-songwriter Neomi Speelman, makes her official introduction to the music world with the release of her debut single if i wasn't made for love, a captivating indie-folk gem out now via [PIAS] Recordings Holland.

I am loving néomí's enchanting vocals and haunting harmonies which effortlessly infuse the song with a dreamy touch that I really like. if i wasn’t made for love is a song about the mystery of life and how complicated love can be. This message is wrapped around a memorable indie-folk production packed with intricate acoustic guitar riffs that are flawlessly intertwined with steady percussion, touches of banjo and electric guitar riffs and dreamy soundscapes on which her bewitching vocals soar beautifully over. I am loving the song's warmth and how it sounds perfect for those late night drives or introspective days home alone. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, néomí said,
’if i wasn’t made for love’ was written in a time where I doubted love in the most possible way ever. And let’s be honest, love is the most stupid thing in the world. Think about it: you want someone, you fall in love, you love each other, you hate each other, it hurts, you break up, and you keep doing that because every time you think once more ‘this is the one’. With ’if i wasn’t made for love’, I sing about the beauty and mystery of life. And what love brings to me, and I think also to others. The idea is: if life were simple, love would be simple as well. But in the end, it’s wonderful that love is complicated. I’d rather be ‘not made for love’ than understand it.”
