Marsden & Richardson Share New Single ‘Mama’
Band Of Skulls duo Marsden & Richardson have just shared their highly-anticipated eponymous debut album alongside the heartfelt new lead single Mama.
I am a sucker for piano-based songs with tons of emotion and Mama delivers that and then some. Mama is a heartfelt song about the strength of women, paying tribute to all mothers out there that go through all stages of motherhood. I am absolutely in love with those emotional and evocative vocals that are beautifully backed by emotive piano chords nicely intertwined with lush, cinematic strings. This song is packed with so much raw, honest emotion that is impossible not to feel each and every single word being sung, and the crescendo of piano chords and lush strings just made my day. MAMA - Is a very personal song about the strength of women. After my wife and I lost a child due to miscarriage I tried to find some comfort and solace by paying tribute to the strength of our mothers. It’s about the bravery of women going through all stages of motherhood whilst also imagining the future of the child we never got to meet.
