Marie Naffah Shares New Single ‘I Want More’

London-based singer and songwriter Marie Naffah has just shared her brand new single I Want More, a dreamy piece of indie-pop music out now via Frictionless.

I am a fan of Marie Naffah's rich, deeply soulful voice which instantly commands the listener's attention to her relatable storytelling. I Want More is a song about wanting to feel that spark again, daring us to dream big and take more risks to get what we want. This is one of those songs that can be interpreted in so many ways and is wrapped around a memorable production packed with a driving beat nicely paired with lush guitar plucks and subtle, emotive piano keys that create an overall warm and intimate atmosphere. Accompanying the release, Marie Naffah has also shared its official music video, directed and edited by Blackstar Agency, which beautifully embodies the song's warmth and dreamy atmosphere. Check it out below!

Speaking of the track, Marie says,
Although the song initially screens as a love song, the song for me is actually about wanting to feel the magic of live music again. I wanted to get really intimate and into the nitty-gritty of that. The song is all about electricity, really – it’s a nod to all the cables and amps – it was about wanting to really buzz again. It's about losing a spark and wanting to find it and refusing to settle for ‘fine’. I think the beauty of the song is that it can be applicable to so many other things - better relationships, better careers, taking more risks, more adventures. I want this song to dare people to dream, begging the question- ‘what do you want more of? I wanted the music video to reflect the day-dreaming quality of the track. So while the verses are about boredom, the choruses are shot against fabricated images to reflect the imagination. The director had the cool idea of having the green-screen images disappear right at the end so you get that ‘and-I-woke-up-and-it-was-all-a-dream’ feeling which i really liked.
