Jade Empress Shares Debut Single ‘Golden Hours’

Australian singer and songwriter Jade Empress has just shared her debut single Golden Hours, and an ode to commitment-phobia.

Influenced by musical legends such as Joan Armatrading, Joni Mitchell, Ella Fitzgerald, David Bowie and more, Jade’s evocative vocals weave playfulness with introspection, creating something that is unique and intimately true to herself. Jade is someone that loves with her whole heart, but she’s not going to give her dreams up for anyone.

Golden Hours is Jade's way of revealing the power, strength and melancholia that love can bring. I am really enjoying her lovely, evocative vocals which glide beautifully over the chilled out production. Apart from her expressive vocals, I am particularly fond of the intricate guitar riffs that are nicely paired with a steady beat, beautifully creating an overall warm, laid-back atmosphere for her vocals and storytelling to soar. Check it out below!

Speaking about Golden Hours, Jade light-heartedly explains that it’s an,
ode to commitment-phobia. It’s loving things that are gone and things that never were. It’s about missing things that could never have been, while remaining endlessly optimistic and excited for whatever is around the next corner.
