Guyville Share New Single ‘Should Have Never Dated’

Guyville, the project of Los Angeles-based indir rock duo composed of Kat Hamilton and Emily Hulslander, have just shared their brand new single Should Have Never Dated, a 90's-inspired indie-rock tune about the regret of getting yourself into certain romantic relationships.

What I like the most about this song has to be its feel-good energy and how infectious the chorus is. As the title implies, Should Have Never Dated is a song about the regret of entering in a certain romantic relationship, especially those that mix work and pleasure. This message is beautifully conveyed through lush, confident vocal delivery which soars effortlessly over the energetic indie/pop-rock production packed with soaring guitars and catchy drum patterns that create an overall warm, feel-good vibes. If you're into 90's-inspired indie-rock cuts with passionate vocals, killer percussion and tons of energy and confidence, then you'll love Should Have Never Dated. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Kat Hamilton of the duo confides,
we had both had bad experiences of dating music collaborators and bandmates. We both talked about how we wished we had kept those relationships platonic. This camaraderie is really the basis of our musical partnership. It was really fun for me to bring my queer experience to the track. It was a cool way to highlight the ways Emily and I had similar problems in mixing work with pleasure, regardless of the gender of our lovers.
