ELVAR Shares New Single ‘Heartbeat Away From Heartbreak’

Icelandic singer and songwriter ELVAR has just shared his brand new single Heartbeat Away From Heartbreak, an upbeat indie-pop/rock song about the fear of losing love and happiness.

ELVAR's smooth, expressive vocals effortlessly draw our attention to his relatable storytelling and I like how we can feel the emotion pouring from his passionate and dynamic vocal delivery. Produced by Magnus Arni Oder Kristinsson, Heartbeat Away From Heartbreak is an upbeat blend of pop, rock , synthpop and indie elements featuring bright, airy synths nicely paired with intricate guitar riffs and steady drum patterns that create an overall warm, feel-good atmosphere. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, ELVAR said,
The inspiration behind the lyrics is the fear of losing love and happiness, a feeling driven by self doubt. The song started out as acoustic song inspired by the Strokes but went in a more uptempo synth driven pop direction when I worked on it with producer Magnus Arni Oder Kristinsson. You can hear many of my influences on the track. The harmonies in the verses were inspired by artists like Phoebe Bridgers and Soccer Mommy while you can hear influences from the Beach Boys and Tame Impala in the middle 8. Me and Magnus are currently working on a new album, which will be the follow up to my debut album, Daydreaming, which came out in 2019.
