Alexa Cappelli Shares New Single ‘broke&lonely’

Los Angeles-based singer and songwriter Alexa Cappelli has just shared her brand new single broke&lonely, the latest single to be taken from her new EP Confused @ 22 which is out now.

I am really enjoying the tone of her voice and how confident and passionate her vocal delivery is, soaring beautifully over the upbeat melodies. As the title implies, this is a song about finding yourself lonely and broke, taking the listener on an emotional rollercoaster, showcasing the emotions and insecurities of living on your own. I am loving how this song is very relatable and its upbeat production, packed with a punchy beat and soaring guitars, make it quite a memorable listening experience. Alexa's vocals are stunning and the infectious chorus got me singing along to it in no time.

Accompanying the release, Alexa Cappelli has shared its official music video, directed by Joshua Beltran, which beautifully embodies the song's message and atmosphere. Check it out below!

Alexa says on the EP,
Confused @ 22 is my second EP, filled with the most honest songs I’ve ever written. Each one supports the other while also standing alone. At first listen, one might say it’s full of fun upbeat songs about a young adult‘s experience. However, the majority of them have made me cry in some way or another. When the title “Confused @ 22” was suggested by a lovely friend of mine, I couldn’t shake it. The topics of these songs really take the listener on an emotional rollercoaster, from confidence to insecurity & back a few times. Songs about reluctance, indecision, and wishful thinking wrapped in a strong, empowering sound. There is no title track for this project, although the words “confused” and “twenty-two” are tucked into the lyrics both literally and metaphorically. Confusion at my age has been something that I’ve noticed resonates with so many people in this era. In a society where choices are virtually endless & a pandemic has stifled our social stamina, “Confused @ 22” is full of songs that not only speak from the heart in acceptance of where we are, but also have that sonic nudge to do something about it.
