The Magnettes Share New Single ‘Monster’

Swedish pop trio The Magnettes, consisting of front duo Rebecka Digervall and Sanna Kalla and producer Tomas Bäcklund Tuneström, are back with their brand new single Monster, an upbeat, bass-driven gem about the sexy, blood rushing feeling of being infatuated with someone.

I am loving those smooth, commanding vocals which instantly captured my attention from start to finish. The whole production has a retro vibe but with a modern twist that makes the song stand out even more. Apart from those gorgeous vocals, I am particularly fond of the groovy bass that is nicely paired with doo-wop choruses, killer horn stabs and new wave synths that create an overall warm, feel-good atmosphere.

Accompanying the release, The Magnettes have shared a 50’s small-screen noir video directed by Martin Åhlin, displaying their flare for playful retro looks and cinematic visuals. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, singer Rebecka Divergall said, ”Monster” is about that flirty, sexy, excruciating stage where it’s like ”will-they-won’t-they? You’re a nervous wreck,, trying to downplay your feelings but they’re growing and growing. We’ve definitely been there, adds Sanna Kalla. The gushing, blood rushing, tingly thing that’s partly sweet, mostly unbearable.
