Seph Cove Shares New Single ‘Helen’

Australian singer and songwriter Seph Cove has just shared his brand new single Helen, a dreamy piece of indie-folk music taken from his upcoming EP Unsafe Passage

As soon as I heard those intricate acoustic guitar riffs I knew I was in for an emotional piece of music and I was correct. Seph Cove's vocals are simply stunning, packed with so much raw, honest emotion and effortlessly making me feel each word he is singing. Helen is a song inspired by human connection, focusing on friendship and how sometimes it is important to remind the people we care for, that they are enough. We all want to know that our friends are there for us and this is a song that reminds the listeners that we should make sure our friends know they are not alone and that they are enough.

This gem was produced by Tim Bettinson and is full of sonic versatility and sublime production that builds to complex, powerful lows and tender highs. I am particularly fond of the intricate acoustic guitar riffs that are nicely paired with expansive atmospherics and haunting harmonies, beautifully creating an overall dreamy and warm atmosphere perfect for a relaxing day at home. Speaking about the song, Seph Cove said,
I wrote this song in response to learning about the upsetting half-year a friend of mine had during the lockdown in 2020. It was such an important reminder to have perspective. I wanted to let my friend know they had support and that despite everything, they were a very, very good person.
