HOAX Unveil New Single ‘soju’

New York-based indie pop-rock band HOAX, the musical brainchild of Michael Raj and Frantz Cesar, have just unveiled their brand new single soju, the ninth and final single off the band’s narrative-driven debut concept album, b?

I am really enjoying the distinctive voccals and how effortless the vocal delivery is, floating beautifully over the upbeat melodies. Even though the melodies are quite upbeat, the lyrical content is about dealing with death and reflecting on the notion that life sometimes feels like random moments in time that are out of your control.

Written about the aftermath of loss and grief, soju is a relatable song that shines a light at the feeling of being helpless and wishing for one more moment with our loved ones. This song shares a message of taking advantage of each and every moment together with our special someone and love them in every of those moments, all wrapped around a catchy lo-fi/indie-pop production packed with steady percussion, groovy beats, gorgeous guitar plucks and warm rhythms that create an overall chill, feel-good atmosphere with weekend vibes.
