A few months ago, my now (and then) girlfriend broke up with me, & that really messed up our relationship dynamic. In trying to win her back, I lost my position of power. The whole thing reminded me of being strung out and alone in the middle of the night during my college days. Lots of desperation. So I finally decided to write about it. I wrote, recorded, mixed & mastered the whole thing on a folding table in the spare room of her LA apartment & showed it to her immediately. She just said "Stevie, this is it. release it.
