ELATRASI Shares Brand New Single ‘Immunity’

Off the back of her sensational debut single Heavy ELATRASI, the project of British-Moroccan self-taught pianist, singer and songwriter Lamyaa Hanchaoui, returns with her sophomore single Immunity, an atmospheric and dynamic track with rich harmonic layers and subtle folk and Arab infusions.
I am a fan of ELATRASI's rich vocals and haunting harmonies that instantly command the listeners' attention to her storytelling and effortlessly infuse the song with a dose of raw, honest emotion. Immunity was inspired by this global pandemic and highlights our constant search for healing and the need to build protection against the darkness and demons we carry within ourselves. It is a reflective metaphor of internal empowerment, resilience and strength as a chronic illness and mental health survivor.
This powerful message is wrapped around a polished orchestral, cinematic pop production packed with rich harmonic layers and subtle folk and Arab infusions that is sure to enchant listeners all over the globe through her signature beautifully mellow vocals, philosophical lyrics and haunting melodies. I am particularly fond of the lush, cinematic strings, killer beat and how hauntingly beautiful her harmonies are. Have a listen to this gem below!

Discussing the new track, ELATRASI shares,
'Immunity' challenges taboo attitudes held within society and explores the hidden vulnerabilities of invisible illness which continue to be misunderstood from our own communities. I wrote this during a time I was deeply struggling behind closed doors and found myself questioning my own strength and reason. As the song progresses, so does the epic cinematic percussion and ethereal violin strings - ending with a grand cathartic release - signifying the decision to not lose hope and keep 'building my immunity'. 'How to build immunity to an aching soul? I'm doing everything I can just to feel in control' - what was once a personal cry in my notes has now evolved into a compositional act of defiance and internal monologue of resistance. I hope this slow cinematic ballad serves as a gentle reminder to the listener that they do not have to fight their invisible battles alone and that you are more than capable of building your own immunity, slowly but surely.
