Chloe Lilac Shares New Single ‘sick’

Brooklyn-based artist Chloe Lilac has just shared her brand new single sick, a captivating indie-pop song taken from her new mixtape, when i feel better, which is out now!

Traversing relationship struggles, self-realization, and mental health battles, when i feel better is an exposé defining Chloe Lilac's growth over the past year. Endearing vulnerability and raw lyricism characterize each track on the mixtape as a diary entry of sorts, entrusting the listener with Chloe's vivid viewpoints on the world.

On the project, Chloe notes,
when i feel better is a collection of songs I wrote in quarantine, hoping that I’d release them when the world was in a better place. I can’t say that the world is in a better place now, but it felt right to put these out.
One of my favourite cuts from this project is sick, an infectious indie-pop cut that compares toxic people to a contagious sickness and is wrapped around memorable melodies on which Chloe Lilac's gorgeous, sultry vocals soar effortlessly over. I am a big fan of Chloe's distinctive vocals and how much of a gifted storyteller she is, capturing our attention from start to finish. The song is packed with a memorable beat and expansive synths that create an overall warm, laid-back atmosphere perfect for a relaxing day.

Accompanying the release, Chloe has shared its official music video, directed by Ragan Henderson, which flawlessly embodies the song's message and warm atmosphere. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Chloe Lilac said,
I wrote ‘sick’ about dating someone who will do anything to get what they want. Whenever I re-listen to it I think of the phrase ‘hurt people hurt people.’ Being with someone like that can make you as sick as they are.
