Taylor Simpson Shares New Single ‘Drifting’

Canadian singer and songwriter Taylor Simpson has just shared his brand new single Drifting, a smooth indie-folk song taken from his upcoming debut album, Learning to Live with Precious Time, set to arrive in January 2022. 

 

I am really enjoying his smooth, expressive vocals which sing about two people in a strenuous relationship where one person is too much for the other. The love is there, but it’s hard to hold onto and want to keep. Taylor writes with the approach of wearing his heart on his sleeve to connect emotionally with the listener. The way his vocals glide over the polished production is quite effortless, and I am particularly fond of the intricate acoustic guitar riffs throughout the song and how they are nicely paired with subtle electric guitar licks and steady percussion that create an overall warm, laid-back atmosphere.
