Svavar Knútur Shares New Single ‘November’

Icelandic singer and songwriter Svavar Knútur has just shared his brand new single November, a melancholy-infused piece of Folk/acoustic music.

I am really enjoying his smooth, evocative vocals which sing about embracing the melancholy of the upcoming cold, grey days of winter while reminiscing about past summers. Most of the song is packed with delicate, folk melodies as intricate acoustic guitar melodies are nicely paired with cinematic strings and haunting harmonies, creating an overall warm and intimate atmosphere. Then the song builds up in energy with energetic drums and soaring guitars, dramatically changing the mood of the song by giving us a dose of energy and beautifully matching the common moodswings of winter days. Definitely an enthralling listening experience drenched with nostalgia and melancholia, perfect to keep you warm in the coming cold winter days. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Svavar Knútur said,
November is a song of appreciation of this much maligned month. A song of embracing the melancholy and grey days, lighting candles to light our way into the cold darkness of winter. The longing for summers past, but the inevitable trajectory into the future. The song is in its essence a painting of November, with its moodswings and tumultous nature.
