Roos Meijer Shares New Single ‘Worthy’
Dutch singer and songwriter Roos Meijer has just shared her brand new single Worthy, a lovely indie-folk song.
Taken from her new album, Why Don't We Give It A Try?, out now, Worthy is a song about women empowerment, realising they don't have to depend on anyone else. This positive, empowering message of knowing one's own worth is wrapped around a warm indie-folk production with subtle guitar plucks nicely paired with lovely backing vocals and steady percussion that create an overall warm, expansive atmosphere that beautifully backs Roos Meijer's rich, deep vocals. Speaking about the song, Roos Meijer said,
'Worthy' was written in response to a conversation I had with a woman who devotes herself to making women independent, in countries where that is not yet self-evident. She said the best part of her job is watching these women blossom when they realize that they are worthy of themselves, without having to depend on anyone else. Worthy was written from this idea. All the voices at the end of the song represent the voices of women around the world who realize their worth.
