Micci Shares New Single ‘Illusion’

Australia singer and songwriter Micci, who has been the live vocalist for DJ duo Peking Duk since 2017, is now venturing on her own with a string of songs that are a reflection of her passion for creating, her desire to connect and her enthusiasm for life. 

 

Micci's new single Illusion, which is taken from her upcoming album, beautifully showcases her lovely, expressive vocals which are both soothing and passionate at the same time, effortlessly drawing the listener's attention to her storytelling. Illusion is a song about being in a relationship that has blurred lines and is wrapped around a memorable production that features a lush drum loop that samples Massive Attack's gorgeous gem Teardrop. I am loving the drum loop that sounds quite hypnotic and is nicely paired with subtle guitar plucks, perfectly backing Micci's vocals and creating an overall warm, somwhat mysterious, atmosphere that I find perfect for those introspective days home alone or long drives at night.
