Illumen Share New Single ‘Drifting Apart’
Swedish 3-piece band Illumen have just shared their brand new single Drifting Apart, a catchy indietronica/pop song about fading emotions.
I am really enjoying the tone of Martin Radoz's voice and how passionate his vocal delivery is, packed with so much raw emotion, instantly connecting us to their storytelling. As the title implies, Drifting Apart is a song about the fading of emotions towards a lover, a childhood friend or even a close relative. This relatable message is wrapped around a memorable production packed with a heavy-hitting beat nicely paired with emotive piano chords that create the perfect soundscape for those powerful vocals and emotion to soar. In “Drifting Apart” we describe a separation that is ongoing, but one that includes reflections and a wish to depart from behaviour we don´t like in ourselves, with empty promises as an example. The way Martin [Radoz] presents the lyrics and melodies is straightforward, almost naked, in order to convey the simple truths and honest feelings.
