GIUDI Shares Enchanting New Single ‘Jezinky (acapela)'
Czech-Italian Alt-Pop artist Giudi is back with an enchanting new single titled Jezinky, out now via Minimal Surface.
This new single is a beautiful acapela version that allows for Giudi beautifully showcase her powerful, expressive vocals and haunting harmonies, as well as her songwriting abilities. Being an acapela version packed with layered harmonies and emotive vocals, Jezinky has a mystical atmosphere that I find incredibly captivating and hypnotising. Inspired by Czech music and culture, Jezinky are mythical creatures from the Bohemian Woods that seduce people to get lost with them in the woods. I am loving the magical atmosphere of the song and how Giudi perfectly uses layered voices and harmonies to create a warm and dreamy atmosphere which I think you will enjoy.
Speaking about the song, Giudi said,
Although I normally use electronic music I felt it would be wonderful to bring to everybody a piece of the mystical Czech magic, using voices as instruments so I’ve recorded a completely acapela song. Something different and authentic, inspired by our own wonderful Czech music and culture. “Jezinky” are the legendary wild woman from the Bohemian Woods. They are mythical creatures seducing people to get lost with them in the woods. Now imagine the Jezinky represent your fears. I wanted to make a music video that reflects how people can feel lost and empty nowdays. We are all "lost in the woods" with tons of information and uncertainties. In the song I lure the listeners into my forest of spells and magic, so they can play the game with me.
Accompanying the release, Giudi teamed up with long time creative director, visual artist JaCob Ra and cinematographer Jan Moravec to deliver a striking music video that beautifully embodies the song's ethereal and mystical atmosphere. Working with local brand Overal Office, which is a sustainable brand currenlty exporting to Asia, Giudi recycled her husband's wedding suit into the post apocalyptic costume inspired by army style which you can check out in the video below!
