ROE & Ciaran Lavery Share New Single ‘Destroyer’
Irish singer and songwriter ROE has teamed up with fellow British singer-songwriter Ciaran Lavery to delivery a gorgeous new single titled Destroyer.
Written by ROE and Ciaran Lavery, and produced by Tommy McLaughlin (Villagers), Destroyer is a song about being in a toxic relationship where you let someone take so much of you before you even notice what they've taken. This message is wrapped around a captivating blend of indie-folk and alternative rock elements that create the perfect soundscape for ROE and Ciaran Lavery's expressive vocals to soar. I am really enjoying how their vocals complement one another and how both are packed with so much emotion, flowing beautifully over the soaring guitars and steady drum beat. Check it out below!
Speaking about the song, ROE said,
Destroyer was written about how much you can let someone swallow you up before becoming aware of what they’ve taken from you.
Ciaran Lavery added,
Destroyer is knowledge of being in something deeply unhealthy, but simultaneously holds a power over the controlled. I feel the song attempts to capture that inner and outer conflict that prefaces the questioning of leaving someone.
