POLUN (寶麟) Shares Debut Single ‘Higher Ground’ ft. Gracie Ella
Toronto-based POLUN (寶麟) has just shared his official debut single Higher Ground, a warm r&b-tinged electro-pop song.
POLUN started his career as a producer/songwriter under the moniker Terence TEE Lam, producing the 2014 Juno award-winning R&B/Soul record of the year, “Can’t Choose” by JRDN. He also co-wrote on two Billboard Hot 100 hits—triple-platinum singles “Here” by Alessia Cara and “Too Good” by Drake ft Rihanna.
Now, POLUN is pursuing his own music career with this gorgeous piece of music that features the lovely, soulful vocals of fellow Canadian singer-songwriter Gracie Ella. Taken from his upcoming debut EP Trillium, Higher Ground is a captivating blend of dance, pop and r&b elements that create an overall feel-good atmosphere. I am really enjoying the unique pop melodies and emotionally charged beats that back Gracie Ella's sultry and soulful vocals. I am particularly fond of the groovy bass, lush synths and how dreamy Gracie's harmonies are. Higher Ground is one of those songs that will instantly get you in a good mood and you can check it out below!
Speaking about the song, POLUN said,
Higher Ground combines all the things I love about dance, pop and R&B music. I knew I wanted a playful yet sexy vocal to complement the slower tempo of the groove. As soon as I heard Gracie’s voice on the track, it just felt right. Her sultry and soulful voice was the perfect finishing touch on this bop!
