Mikalyn Shares New Single ‘Blame’

Canadian singer-songwriter Mikalyn has just shared her brand new single Blame, a captivating indie-pop song, out now via Light After Dark.

I am really enjoying Mikalyn's vocals and ethereal vocal harmonies which glide beautifully over the polished production. Blame is a powerful song that documents the grieving process following a relationship breakdown in which harsh realities are faced and former truths get called into question. This relatable heartbreak song is wrapped around infectious melodies packed with catchy percussion, subtle piano keys and lush harmonies that create an overall warm, laid-back atmosphere.

Accompanying the release, Mikalyn has shared its official music video, directed by Mikalyn and Chris Grey, which provides snapshots of the relationship’s happier times before the clip culminates in the cathartic burning of mementos. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Mikalyn said,
Many people have experienced that moment when they realize they taken on too much burden in a relationship, blaming themselves for things that are not in their control, and wanting it to work so bad that they sacrifice themselves in the process. This song is about putting an end to that.
