Matilda Cole Shares New Single ‘Halloween’

Following last month's warm indie-pop cut Camden, Brighton-based indie-pop singer and songwriter Matilda Cole is back with her brand new single Halloween, a slow burning indie cut out now via Human Re Sources.

I am a fan of Matilda Cole's gorgeous, earthy vocals and how they instantly command the listener's attention to her storytelling. Halloween is a song about begging someone to spend time and be kind to you. A song about doing anything you can to make that person stay so you're not alone. This message is wrapped aroundd a retro-tinged indie-pop production with cool guitar licks nicely paired with steady percussion and lush melodies. The whole atmosphere of the song is quite warm and dreamy, making it perfect for a chill day at home. Accompanying the release, Matilda Cole shared its gorgeous music video which you can check out below!

Speaking about the song, Matilda Cole said,

halloween has always been my favourite time of year. i start planning my costumes on november 1st, and force my family to carve pumpkins the second it’s october, so i wanted to write a song about how much i love halloween. underneath it though, this song is about having to beg someone to be kind to you, and to spend time with you. about how you would do anything to make them stay, just so you’re not alone.
