Desmond Myers Shares New Single ‘Shadows’
Georgia-based singer and songwriter Desmond Myers has just shared his brand new single Shadows, the latest single to be taken from his long-awaited debut album, Shadowdancer, out now via LVCO Production.
I am really enjoying his lovely vocals which soar beautifully over the groovy production, instantly connecting the listener to his storytelling. Shadows is a song about going through a period of great uncertainty in his life, questioning many things and struggling with fear, self-doubt and isolation. It shares a message of self-acceptance and a light at the end of the tunnel. This relatable song is wrapped around a dark, mysterious production with a memorable driving beat, swaggering guitars and funk-fueled melodies that create an overall warm, feel-good atmosphere that contrasts the darker lyrical content. Speaking about the song, Desmond Myers said, "Shadows” is a song I wrote after being frustrated with overthinking. I can be a very cerebral person at times and I wanted to make a song that got me out of my own head. I had been making a lot of mid-tempo music about things that were very personal to me and I just wanted to make something to shake those feelings off to. It ended up being just as vulnerable of an experience as those other songs. It was like treating myself through song, which is its own unique kind of vulnerability.
