Adele Returns With Gorgeous New Single & Video ‘Easy On Me’

The wait is over! Global superstar Adele is back! 6 years after the release of her hit album 25, the British powerhouse singer/songwriter returns with a stunning new single titled Easy On Me.

Taken from her upcoming 4th studio album 30, set to arrive on November 19th via XL Recordings / Columbia Records, Easy On Me is a heartfelt piece of music that sees Adele pouring her heart out through her powerful and dynamic vocal range. I am a sucker for piano-based songs and this one has such a memorable melody packed with so much emotion that is impossible not to fall in love with. When Adele shared its preview clip I immediately felt it was going to be another emotional gem and I was not disappointed. It's a song about the end of a relationship that had love but it still didn't work out in the end, showing that it takes a lot of work and growth to maintain it. It shares a message that we shouldn't change who we really are for someone else as that never works out in the end.

Its accompanying music video was directed by Canadian filmmaker Xavier Dolan who had previously worked with Adele on the music video for her 2015 single "Hello". Adele looks stunning in the video and I love the black-and-white that then turns into all colour. This video reminds me of a blend of her "Rolling In The Deep" and "Hello" videos! Check it out below!

Lyrics:

[Verse 1]
There ain't no gold in this river
That I've been washin' my hands in forever
I know there is hope in these waters
But I can't bring myself to swim
When I am drowning in this silence
Baby, let me in

[Chorus]
Go easy on me, baby
I was still a child
Didn't get the chance to
Feel the world around me
I had no time to choose what I chose to do
So go easy on me

[Verse 2]
There ain't no room for things to change
When we are both so deeply stuck in our ways
You can't deny how hard I have tried
I changed who I was to put you both first
But now I give up

[Chorus]
Go easy on mе, baby
I was still a child
Didn't get the chance to
Feel thе world around me
Had no time to choose what I chose to do
So go easy on me

[Bridge]
I had good intentions
And the highest hopes
But I know right now
It probably doesn't even show

[Chorus]
Go easy on me, baby
I was still a child
I didn't get the chance to
Feel the world around me
I had no time to choose what I chose to do
So go easy on me
