Sara Jean Kelley Shares New Single ‘Our Story/The End’

American singer and songwriter Sara Jean Kelley has just shared her brand new single Our Story/The End, a lovely folk song about dealing with grief and how they're pockets that you float in and out of.

I am really enjoying her expressive, emotive vocal delivery and how they are nicely backed by a warm and intimate folk production. Our Story/The End was written during the lockdown in a place of nostalgia and longing, and how it forced Sara to reflect and go inward. This relatable experience is wrapped around captivating melodies that feel like a warm embrace. I am particularly fond of the intricate acoustic guitar riffs and how they are nicely paired with subtle piano keys, steady percussion and subtle electric guitar riffs which enhance the emotion pouring from Sara Jean Kelley's powerful vocals. This is one of those songs perfect for a relaxing rainy day at home with our thoughts as it is drenched with nostalgia and longing. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Sara Jean Kelley said,
The snake in this song is gentle and kind. She is like a warm blanket, wrapping you and telling you that everything will be ok. Assuring you that this feeling is a part of the process and that it too, like all things, will pass. But in the meantime, allow yourself to feel however you feel and reminding us to to be gentle and kind with ourselves as well. It is a process. I remember vividly recording the vocals to this song. It was the end of the second day of recording and I was tired and cranky and I couldn’t figure out why. Kyle, my producer, stopped recording and next thing I knew he was walking into the vocal booth the ask if I was ok. I didn’t even register that my energy had changed until this moment. That is the power of this song— to remind you of that feeling, to draw you in and let you simmer in it.
