Roses & Revolutions Share New Single ‘Lower Than Low’
Indie-pop duo Roses & Revolutions have just shared their brand new single Lower Than Low, the latest single to be taken from their upcoming Midnight Monsters EP, set to arrive on October 15th via Nettwerk Records.
I am loving the raw emotion in this song and how it is packed with melancholia, instantly winning me over from the very first seconds. The powerful, evocative vocals tackle issues of isolation and depression which are enhanced by the rich production packed with gorgeous, stacked harmonies that envelop the listener with an expansive and heartbreaking quality. You can really feel each and every single word that's being sung with the emotive piano chords enhancing the feelings of loneliness and melancholia. This is a great song for those introspective days home alone, especially if you're an overthinker and melancholic person like I am.
Speaking about the song, the band said,
’Lower than Low’ is about thinking you’re at your lowest and realizing there’s actually a level below that. While the lyrics might be dark we wanted the melody and production to hint at some glimmers of hope.
Accompanying the release, Roses & Revolutions have shared its animated music video, created by director and animator Nikita Biswas, which perfectly embodies the song's reflective atmosphere. Check it out below!
