Larkins Share New Single ‘This Is Gonna Hurt’

Manchester-based alt-pop band Larkins have just shared their brand new single This Is Gonna Hurt, the second single to be taken from their highly-anticipated debut album JCOY.

 

I am very fond of frontman Josh Noble's expressive vocals which instantly connect the listener to their storytelling. Out now via Good Soldier Records, This Is Gonna Hurt is a relatable song about the fragility of sex and the foolish lengths we go to attract someone and then to escape them. This message is wrapped around a memorable alt-pop production packed with muted beats nicely intertwined with intimate vocal lines, spare piano chords, infectious hooks, catchy synths and a massive drop of the song's chorus. I am also very fond of the song's warmth and how it oozes chill summer vibes perfect for a laid-back weekend out in the sun. Check it out below!
