Scott the Pisces Shares New Single ‘Crazy About You’ ft. Raene

London-based, British pop songwriter and record producer Scott the Pisces has just shared his brand new single Crazy About You, an upbeat pop song about young love. 

His first new song after the sucess of his debut EP Ocean Blue, Crazy About You is a song about the experience of falling in love for the first time and how innocent and magical it feels. To convey the emotion of his relatable storytelling Scott the Pisces enlisted the help of singer-songwriter Raene whose lush vocals soar effortlessly over the upbeat electronic production. I am very fond of Raene's vocals and how they instantly draw the listener's attention to Scott's storytelling. The whole atmosphere of the song is quite blissful and warm, sounding perfect for a fun and relaxing summer's day out and about or by the beach. Check it out below!

 

 

Speaking about the song, Scott the Pisces said,

I wanted to write a song about the experience we all have when we first get a taste of love. That magical feeling we embrace while we’re young, the simplicity of it all. How we begin to experience the excitement and all the little elements that come with it. I tried to create a summarising narrative of how I experienced my first love, the innocence of wearing your heart on your sleeve. At the same time I had to keep it fairly pop, and so I made sure that the concept was easily relatable and quite broad. The hook riffs off the idea that once they’re in your life, you can’t stop thinking about them; the memories you share. The instrumentation was played out to create a summertime feel, with the inclusion of marimbas and steel pan drums. I also played a lot of guitar throughout the song as I felt it brought a rawness to the commercial sound. To me I’d say the artists I looked to for inspiration during the creation of the song were Carly Rae Jepsen, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. Production wise I leaned towards Max Martin’s pop approach.
