Specific Coast Shares New Single ‘Wasn't Love’

Specific Coast, the moniker of singer-songwriter Matt Dune, has just shared his brand new single Wasn't Love, a melancholic indie-folk song out now via his own imprint, Cactus Coast Records.

I adore melancholic songs and this one sure delivers on that, and then some. Specific Coast's warm, smooth vocals effortlessly convey the emotion of his relatable storytelling and flow nicely over the polished production. Wasn't Love is a song about the pain of a relationship ending too soon, dealing with heartache and struggling with new relationships. This relatable message is wrapped around a highly addictive indie-folk production with intricate, finger-picking acoustic guitar melodies that create an overall warm and intimate atmosphere that makes Wasn't Love a great song to listen while home alone with one's thoughts. Speaking about the song, Specific Coast said,

‘Wasn’t Love’ might be my most relatable song I’ve written. Everyone has experienced a relationship ending too soon. Maybe it’s bad timing. Maybe it’s a childish fight or a miscommunication. Either way, someone gets hurt. The song itself feels ancient to me. I wrote it in 2016 when I was struggling with relationships, both platonic and romantic.
