JIM OUMA Shares New Single ‘I Need Money’ ft. LAUREN & Marley Waters

Swedish music producing duo JIM OUMA has just shared his brand new single I Need Money, an infectious dancehall-infused electro-pop song out now via Analog Art / Northbound Music Group.

For this song the Swedish producers teamed up with Norwegian rising R&B queen LAUREN and American multi-talented songwriter, producer, singer, rapper, and DJ Marley Waters. I am really enjoying the song's feel-good atmosphere and how LAUREN's gorgeous, soulful vocals are nicely paired with Marley Waters' distinctive tone. The whole song screams chill summer vibes by the beach and it has quite a good story behind it.

I Need Money was born out of a phone call the duo had with a Jamaican musician they’ve worked with. They offered him a royalty cut, as it’s usually done in this business, but he politely said no thanks and wanted payment in cash. This conversation ended up as a sample in the song as well as giving it its name (with the musician’s approval). This is a real situation from a business where profitability is never guaranteed and when cash can feel a safer way of getting an income.
