Brooklyn-based indie-pop trio Prinze George, consisting of Kenny Grimm (production/instrumental), Naomi Almquist (vocals) and Isabelle De Leon (drums), have just shared their brand new single Off My Ass, a melancholy-infused song about self-love and forgiveness.
I am loving Naomi Almquist's vocal delivery which instantly drew my attention to their storytelling. There's something quite hypnotic about her vocals and how effortlessly they soar over the captivating indie-pop production. I am particularly fond of the trap-infused beat and how the song sounds perfect for those laid-back summer days. If you're into beautifully-written pieces of music with commanding vocals, a warm production with an overall feel-good, chill atmosphere, then you'll love this song. Check it out below!
Speaking about the song, Naomi Almquist said,
“Off My Ass” is really the first hug I have ever given myself through my work. I am a deep feeling person and become very angry/explosive when I am hurting. I make mistakes. I don’t know how to lie about how I feel. No matter how awful I’ve been to other people in moments of weakness, I have always been, without a shadow of a doubt, the absolute hardest on myself. Writing “Off My Ass” has taught me how to be wiser, calmer and kinder to myself...which in turn has made me more open/kind to the people around me...because that’s how love works. No matter how significant or insignificant other people decide it is, I will always think of this song as the one that really saved me.
