Petticoat Shares Shimmering New Single ‘Give Up’

Petticoat, the moniker of American singer and songwriter David Halsey, has just shared his brand new single Give Up, the fifth and final single to be taken from his new EP, Hedon, out now!

I am really enjoying his smooth, expressive vocals and how they soar effortlessly over the infectious electro-pop production. Give Up is a song about the creative frustrations many artists are faced with, making them question everything they do, wondering if it's really worth it. This message is wrapped around a smooth retro-tinged production with bright synths, cool guuitars and infectious beat. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Petticoat said,

It’s dedicated to the creative frustration an artist faces. A point where we all question what we do, and if our future path is worth the work. The instrumental hits a “crescendo of confusion” with multiple pianos, backward atonal guitars, and crazed fox, meant to create a feeling of frustration and wildness. It’s a song that’s not only catchy but tries to create anxiety and trial that is central to the theme of the song.
