Sarpa Salpa Share New Single ‘Ghost’

Northampton-based 5-piece indie pop band Sarpa Salpa have just shared their brand new single Ghost, the latest single to be taken from their sophomore 6-track EP, A Feeling You Can’t Replace, out now via Well Healed Recordings (Independent) / AWAL.

I am loving the energy of this song and how Marcus Marooth's passionate vocal delivery soars effortlessly over the upbeat production and beautifully connects the listener to their storytelling. Ghost is a song about about being in a relationship with someone who's already committed to someone else, delving into jealousy, bitterness and heartbreak. I am glad to say I've never been in that position but I think many can relate to it and the production really brings out those emotions to the forefront. I am loving the retro-tinged synths, groovy guitar riffs and punchy percussion that make Ghost an enthralling and memorable listening experience that got me hooked right after the very first listen. The energy is absolutely addictive and if you're into indie-pop/rock music with gorgeous guitars and drums, then you'll love Ghost. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Guitarist George Neath said,

GHOST is quite simply about the complexities of being in a relationship with somebody who is already committed to somebody else. It’s based very literally on a real experience and encompasses all of the jealousy, confusion, bitterness and heartbreak that was felt during that time. The chaotic nature of the music kind of reflects the turbulence of the situation and I think you really feel the intensity of those feelings not just through the lyrics but through the frenzied tangle of instruments and vocals. It’s quite a frantic listen but I think that just throws you into the turmoil of being in love with someone who only loves you back in secret.
