Speaking about the song, Glennellen Anderson said,
ex-Box is about that box of items you find after a breakup that you just cant seem to get rid of no matter how much you claim you are "over him". The song is about the journey of closure after finding that box and slowly turns into a power pop anthem that claims "I dont need NO man!"
