Sarpa Salpa Share New Single ‘Another Life’
Northampton-based 5-piece indie pop band Sarpa Salpa kick off this new year with a gorgeous new single titled Another Life, out now via Well Healed Recordings (Independent) / AWAL.
This lovely song is taken from their upcoming sophomore EP, set to arrive on April 2nd, and talks about being madly in love with someone that doesn't feel the same but you're still a bit too blind to see that. As always, Marcus Marooth's passionate vocal delivery is one of my favourite elements of their music and they soar beautifully over the energetic production. I am also very fond of the bright synths, cool guitars (and awesome solo) and punchy percussion that create quite an infectious, feel-good atmosphere with a chorus perfect to sing along to. Speaking about the song, the band said,
Another life tackles the idea of being completely head over heels in love with somebody, devoting everything to them. However, despite the warning signs, you cannot bring yourself to admit that your love is unrequited, your optimism outweighing what you know - that you’ll never quite have the love you’re giving reciprocated.
