Lordus Shares New Single ‘Have You Ever’
Brooklyn-based R&B singer and songwriter Lordus (formerly known as Ella René) has just shared her brand new single Have You Ever, a refreshing contemporary take on the classic 90s R&B sound.
I am a sucker for 90s R&B music (being an avid fan of early Toni Braxton) and Lordus perfectly captures that essence and gives it a refreshing take. I am really enjoying Lordus' rich, soulful vocals and how they instantly draw the listener's attention to her relatable storytelling.
Have You Ever is a song about being in a dying relationship and reminiscing on the good times which make you second guess your decision to break up, but in the end you know it will never work. This relatable song is wrapped around a warm R&B production with a smooth beat that allows for Lordus' passionate vocals to soar. Check it out below!
Speaking about the song, Lordus said,
"Have You Ever" deals with a couple reminded of one moment that would make them want to save a dying relationship but is that really enough? Is the love still there? I wrote this song after a friend vented about their current relationship and it's usually easy for me to write about other people so I wrote it in the sense of being in a relationship where it's no longer serving either of you but at the same time that one moment pops into your mind and you reminisce of the good times making you rethink it (breaking up) but also knowing it can never work.
