US artist Chameleous makes his official musical introduction with the release of his debut single Your Taste, an 80s-inspired piece of electro synth-pop music.
Your Taste is a song inspired about coming out of a toxic relationship but still being drawn towards that person, as if you're addicted to them, but then you start your own path of healing. I am really enjoying the mysterious and sensual atmosphere of the electronic production which is enhanced by the pulsing cinematic synths. The smooth vocals glide beautifully over the infectious melodies packed with killer synths intertwined with soaring electric guitars and punchy drums. I really liked the 80s influences in the song that will leave you nostalgic for that golden era of synth-pop music. Check it out below!
Speaking about the song, Chameleous said,
I wrote ‘Your Taste’ after barely escaping a toxic relationship yet I couldn’t escape the intimacy and sexuality of it. Even after infidelity his taste kept me under a spell. It was like an addiction, so after the messy breakup, I turned to other substances to cope with the withdrawals. The relationship shined a spotlight on my codependent tendencies and lead me to a path of self discovery and healing. Music has been an instrument of healing and I’d like to return the favor to others in my community with my playful approach to music and story.
