Augustine Unveils New Single ‘Prom’
Swedish songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Augustine has just unveiled his brand new single Prom, taken from his upcoming debut album set to arrive later this year.
I am a fan of his smooth vocals, with that dazzling falsetto really making the song stand out even more. Prom is a captivating indie-pop song about the beautiful mess of emotions drawn from his experiences of the last year, a graceful trip through all the melancholia and excitement that comes with change.
Starting with a grand pipe organ intro, it soon evolves into a bouncy drum beat on which Augustine’s lush vocals soar effortlessly over. I am really fond of the touches of melancholia in the song and how it makes me want to close my eyes and dance alone in my bedroom. Check it out below!
Speaking about the song, Augustine said,
The night before prom came to embody this very tense and juvenile feeling of a life-changing moment. You know the feeling that everything will be different tomorrow? There is so much melancholia attached to it, but also excitement. It’s beautiful in a way. You never know how things will turn out, or what choices will make sense in the end.
