LVRBOY & Leah Sykes Share New Single ‘all my friends are sad’

Following the release of his lovely singles Hoodie Weather and Ohio Girls, American singer and songwriter LVRBOY teams up with fellow singer/songwriter Leah Sykes to deliver a gorgeous duet titled all my friends are sad.

all my friends are sad is a heartfelt pop song about depression, realising that not everything is alright as we were to believe while growing up. I also enjoy the nostalgia in the song, looking back at those days growing up with no cares in the world. As I've struggled with depression I can absolutely relate to this song and I think most of you will too. LVRBOY and Leah Sykes flawlessly capture those feelings and wrap it around a captivating pop production with emotive piano chords, subtle percussion and cool electronics that enhance the intimate and heartfelt atmosphere of the lyrics. I am a fan of both of their smooth, soothing vocals and they soar beautifully over the warm production and perfectly convey the emotion of their storytelling. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, LVRBOY said,

A few months back, one of my sister’s friends took his own life. The next day, a girl I was seeing was on the phone with a friend who was sad about a guy and said, “all my friends are sad,” and frowned at me. I immediately began writing it. The next day, Leah and I finished it. The whole song is based on the idea that we didn’t have a care in the world as kids and our parents always told us everything would be alright when, in fact, a lot of people are not okay right now. I've struggled with depression most of my adult life, so this song means a lot to me.

This song is about depression. It's the idea we had in our heads as kids that we would always be alright when in fact some of us aren't. Video releases a week after the song and features home movies.
