Salt Ashes Unveils New Single ‘Cut You With A Kiss’
London-based singer and songwriter Salt Ashes is back with a gorgeous new single titled Cut You With A Kiss, a captivating piece of electro-pop music with a dark edge.
I am a fan of her powerful, distinctive vocals and how they are the star of the song, instantly drawing the listener's attention to her relatable storytelling. Cut You With A Kiss is a dark-tinged piece of electro-pop music about being jealous of someone's new girlfriend, claiming she isn't good for them. This relatable song is wrapped around such a polished and refreshing production packed with lush electronics, a killer beat, cool synths, a memorable chorus and an overall sombre and mysterious atmosphere. This is one of those songs that will get you humming to it right after the very first listen and I am also loving how danceable it is. Check it out below!
Speaking about the song, Salt Ashes said,
Cut You With A Kiss is about questioning the integrity of someone's new girlfriend and believing that she isn't good for them. It's a dark place where honesty gets confused for jealousy so maybe these things shouldn't be said out loud. Maddox Jones and I wrote the chorus for this in my bedroom and I fell in love with the catchiness of it straight away. I wrote the rest of the song when I was stuck in a hotel room in South Korea because there was a serious typhoon outside. When I got back to the UK I took it to Louis Souyave who produced it into a sonically haunted house.
