WEIRDO Shares ‘FAKIN’’ Music Video
Birmingham/Berlin-based multi-talented artist WEIRDO has just shared the official music video for his gorgeous single FAKIN', out now via Youth LTD/Believe UK.
FAKIN' is an infectious dark pop gem about the world we live in, wrapped around a catchy production and songwriting that eludes prowess and sincerity throughout. I am really enjoying his warm vocals and how they beautifully convey both sarcasm and true meaning. His lo-fi vocals are backed by a lush production packed with driving drums and dirty synths which make it quite a memorable listening experience.
The music video accompanying the track is a stunning depiction of modern-day social issues by film director Lubos Rezler and DOP Filip Marek. The main character shows someone who builds his life on materialism and social status, yet behind closed doors is broken, hollow and empty. Check it out below!
Speaking about the video, director Lubos Rezler explains,
This short story portrays a dark side of an online influencer. He desires a lot of attention from his followers and people around him. Surrounded by luxury and armored with a bold image, he carefully builds his own fake kingdom full of digital dreams. However as it turns out, being the most popular person isn't always the best outcome.
