Coracle Shares New Single ‘Departure’
Coracle, the solo project of producer Jonathan Doherty, originally from Lancashire in the UK, but now living near Tokyo in Japan, is back with an uplifting new song titled Departure, a song about the simple emotions of escapism, freedom and excitement about the summer.

I am really enjoying the House piano chords of this song and how it sounds like summer, instantly getting me to picture those long, sunny days by the beach with no cares in the world. I am also enjoying the sax touches which give the song a jazzy vibe and beautifully enhance the summery atmosphere of the song. Departure will give you that urge to pack your bags and fly to a summer destination and forget about your problems. Have a listen to this feel-good gem below!

Speaking about the song, Coracle said,
Departure was inspired by summer travels and the main riff was written on a Macbook and mini MIDI keyboard whilst killing time in a transfer lounge. A lot of the ambient sounds and other layers were added later during a writing break alone in the french countryside, with blue skies and empty rural landscapes for inspiration. The dialogue sounds were all recorded on flights taken across the summer. Though it may not be currently possible to do the same sort of international travel, the track is about the simple emotions of escapism, freedom and excitement about the summer.
