Will Callan Shares New Single ‘Waste of You’
British 16-year-old pop singer and songwriter Will Callan has just shared his brand new single Waste of You, the follow up to his gorgeous singles Forgiving & Forgetting and Out Of Your Life which were released earlier this year.
I am a big fan of his sublime vocals and how his passionate vocal delivery is packed with so much raw emotion, beautifully conveying the emotion of his heartfelt storytelling about the end of a relationship. There are moments in this song that his vocal delivery reminds me a bit of Lewis Capaldi and if you're fan of his, then I think you will love this song.
Was of You is a heartfelt ballad laid upon a stunning arpeggiated piano-based melody that enhances the emotion pouring out from Will's passionate vocal delivery and I am absolutely loving it. I am a sucker for piano-based songs with emotive vocals and Waste of You ticks all those boxes and then some. Have a listen to this gorgeous ballad below!
Speaking about the song, Will said,
“Waste Of You” shows a different side to my songwriting with a slightly slower tempo. The song is about someone who is in a good relationship, but doesn’t appreciate what they have. Some people are always trying to find their perfect match...but who’s perfect, right? In a relationship, you shouldn’t feel bad for your partner’s mistakes. You saw the good in them in the first place, so it’s not your fault if they waste that for themselves. It’s a reminder that although they might not know it yet, they may have just lost the best relationship they‘ll ever have. Sometimes all you can do is stand back and reflect on what actually happened. I hope that people can relate with the emotion that comes across in the song.
