Blake English Unveils Debut EP ‘Spiders Make Great Poets’
Glam pop-punk artist, Blake English has just unveiled his debut EP, Spiders Make Great Poets, a coming of age story about his journey to break down societal expectations and dealing with social pressure.

In this 5-track project, Blake English showcases his powerful vocals and raw, intense lyrics which are beautifully backed by infectious melodies with dynamic energy from the guitar and drums, which give the listener an emotional and angst-filled portrayal of his journey through life.

Spiders Make Great Poets was produced by Gabe Lopez (Tyler Hilton, Belinda Carlisle) and Alex Niceforo (Demi Lovato, Britney Spears). It tells an authentic story of Blake English's trials and tribulations with growing up and developing his individuality against social expectations. One of my favourite tracks off the EP is Sad Girls Dance Party, a lively and upbeat song with awesome guitar riffs and punchy drums that instantly got me bopping my head to it. One of the songs that I think has the bigger potential to become a huge hit for Blake is The Neighbors which depicts a typical southern family with a dark side over infectious & dramatic melodies with an overall anthemic atmosphere.

This 5-track EP gives me early 2000s, punk-rock vibe reminiscent of acts such as My Chemical Romance and I think you guys will enjoy it too. Check it out below!

Speaking about the song, Blake English said,
I wrote this EP about the journey of self-expression as a means to free oneself from societal expectations. It's a coming-of-age story starting at childhood with toxic family dynamics, moving to a school environment and social pressures, and eventually expanding into adulthood and the repercussions of betraying oneself for the sake of fitting in.
