Tessa Violet Shares ‘Bored’ Music Video
American singer and songwriter Tessa Violet has just shared the colourful and captivating music video for her infectious single Bored, a song taken from her recent debut album, Bad Ideas.
I am really loving the song's playful melodies and her dulcet vocals just make it stand out even more. The song is packed with tons of rhythms, awesome synths, punchy percussion and memorable horns, making Bored a memorable listening experience. I am one of those people that can relate to this song as I tend to get bored quite easily (Even when I have tons of things to do). This song and video were created before the global pandemic but it fits perfectly with the current era we're living in.
Conceptualized and shot to convey feelings of isolation Tessa was experiencing at the time, twists of fate now bring the video's theme all too close-to-home in our current quarantined state amidst the global pandemic.
Filmed at the YouTube Space and directed by Jade Ehlers, Tessa describes,
I wrote 'Bored' at a time when I was feeling extremely isolated. I was working from home and having trouble sleeping, struggling to build community or find things to do out of the house. Not to be super dark but I dreaded going to sleep because I was dreading facing another day. When my director Jade and I wrote the treatment for the video a few months back, I wanted to make a video that reflected that sense of uneasiness and dread, feeling like there's no way out. Fast forward to now and it's pretty wild this release coincides with a worldwide self isolation. Maybe it will comfort you, maybe it will drive you crazier. Either way, we're in this together.
