Malaysian doctor, singer and songwriter Alternate Jane has just unveiled her brand new single Skype Love, a song inspired by long-distance relationships.
I am really enjoying the acoustic guitar-based melodies and the touches of electric guitar that create quite an intimate atmosphere for her smooth vocals to soar. Skype Love shares a message of being thankful for the people that are with us and highlights the struggles of making a long-distance relationship work. There's a 90's indie-pop vibe that I get while listening to this song that really kept me coming back to it over and over. Speaking about the song, Alternate Jane said,
"Skype Love", a song inspired by my university best friend's ill-fated long-distance relationship (both busy doctors) reminds us to be thankful for the people who are still with us. This song highlights the despair and difficulties caused by distance and time difference, whereby the protagonist wakes up to her boyfriend - not his physical self next to her, but instead a Skype video call from him that wakes her up.
