KONGOS Drop New Album ‘1929: Part 2’
Los Angeles-based 4-piece band The KONGOS, consisting of brothers Johnny Kongos, Jesse Kongos, Dylan Kongos and Daniel Kongos, have just unveiled the second record in their trilogy 1929: Part 2.

This 10-track project features the previously released, and my favourite, Western Fog and is packed with the same kind of catchy lyrics, complex melodies and top-notch musicianship that listeners heard on Part 1, released back in January.

Other songs that stand out for me is the groovy In My Chest, Fools, a track about combating your fears and the electric pulsating Push which got me hooked after the very first listen. I am loving the synths and guitars throughout the album and how cohesive it sounds as a whole project. 1929: Part 2 perfectly showcases their songwriting skills and vocals as they all take turns singing the lead vocals in the accordance with who wrote which song. If you're into alternative music with soul, then you'll love this project. Check it out below!

Recorded at Tokoloshe Studios in Los Angeles, the band took a new approach to releasing their latest album. Johnny Kongos explains,
After looking at streaming analytics, we realized that the entire system has never been more geared toward individual tracks. It didn't make sense to release an album all at once and have the majority of the songs overlooked by the 'algorithm overlords.' We wanted each song to be featured in some way, so we decided to release one single at a time, finally culminating in the full album.1929: Part 2 for us is an exciting cross section of the direction that each individual member is taking, as well as the band as a whole.
