Dancing on Tables Unveil New Single ‘Stay’

Scottish 5-piece, indie-pop band Dancing on Tables, consisting of school mates Robbie, Callum, Hamish, Gregor and Michael, have just shared their brand new single Stay, a highly infectious piece of pop music that got me hooked after the very first listen.
Stay is a heartbreak song that describes the struggles someone would face if they were to be left alone. This message is beautifully wrapped around an upbeat indie-pop production packed with a killer guitar solo, punchy drums, dreamy melodies and lush harmonies. The production perfectly matches the song's emotion and I am loving how the vocals flow effortlessly over the instrumental. There is also something anthemic that makes the song perfect to sing along to and I think you guys will like it! It's the groovy guitar riffs throughout the song that really caught my attention with the energetic bridge sealing the deal for me. If you're into beautifully-written pieces of indie-pop music with soaring guitars and lush harmonies, then you'll love this song. Check it out below!
Speaking about the song, the guys said,
‘Stay’ talks about the over reliance on the other half of a relationship, and the struggle someone would face if they were to be left alone. Although the subject focuses on heartbreak, we actually had a lot of fun writing the track. If you isolate the lines, it sounds like we are writing an ode to missing someone (“can’t breathe without you”). However when you hear the lyrics together, combined with the energy that the track build towards, it paints the picture of someone desperate and angry at the situation they find themselves in. It’s the first time we have written a story to match music that we had created. It has given us a track that people can listen to after a break up, as well as sing along to at a festival.
